Elmar Seidler relocated to Munich, where he pursued studies under Karl Rothmuller, a jeweler renowned for his Art Nouveau creations. By 1926, after attaining master jeweler status, he established his own boutique on Schellingstrasse in Munich.

Seidler’s pieces stand out as they transcend temporal shifts and fleeting trends. His aesthetic remained entirely independent of the prevailing Art Deco fashion of that era. Instead, specialists suggest he drew inspiration from the masterworks of ancient Greek and Roman jewelry. He employed distinctive settings for large gems, accented with smaller stones, creating a “jewel within a jewel” effect. Furthermore, ring bands could be adorned with precious stones on their interior surfaces, not merely on the exterior.
