Krishna Choudhary carries the legacy of the tenth generation in a lineage of artisans who have supplied gems to Indian Maharajas for centuries. His father, Santi Chowdhary, established the renowned Royal Gems Arts in Jaipur. However, in 2019, Krishna launched his eponymous brand, Santi, limiting production to merely 12 to 15 pieces annually.

Operating from an exclusive salon in London’s Mayfair, he specializes in rare antique stones, integrating them into modern designs influenced by Mughal aesthetics and his family’s extensive jewelry archive. For instance, a pair of platinum earrings features two 19th-century round Golconda diamonds totaling 5.4 carats at the center. These are encircled by 6.18 carats of smaller white diamonds, mirroring the motifs of historic ceremonial ankle bracelets. “The concept was to forge a mesmerizing loop of diamonds with internal spatial dynamics,” Chowdhary notes. “This achieved the illusion of stones suspended in mid-air, preserving the piece’s delicate lightness.”

Collaborating with craftspeople in Milan and Paris, he produces a limited number of unique creations each year, accessible only by appointment to an expanding clientele. In London, meetings occur at his Mayfair boutique. “I aim to blend the finest elements from India with those from Paris and Milan,” he remarks regarding his global inspirations. “The world has shrunk, and I believe one should select only the absolute best.”
