Brand history
Muharrem and Ferhan Gilan consider their great-great-grandmother to be the ancestor of their creative dynasty, who in the 18th century sewed luxurious robes for Ottoman pashas in Kosovo.
In 1980, the brothers began their ascent to the heights of filigree creativity with the opening of a simple shop in the city of Bursa. Here they traded jewelry in bulk, but soon closed a tiny shop and headed to Istanbul, a city with a rich jewelry tradition and incredible creative possibilities. They dreamed of conquering everyone with their gift of creativity.
In 1993, the Ceylan brothers founded the company and opened their first Gilan brand store in Istanbul. The doors of the second store opened hospitably in Ankara. Then there was a third boutique – and again in Istanbul. A little later, luxury Gilan boutiques were located in Paris and in the cities of America, including on the prestigious Fifth Avenue.
Boutiques were opened in Baku and in the Kingdom of Bahrain, after which the company announced a further expansion of activities in the Middle East. Today, the creators of the Gilan brand are deservedly ranked among the luxury jewelers of Turkey.
Gilan’s works are distinguished by a certain mixture of national craftsmanship with modern, primordially European design; East and West adjoin in them. Another distinguishing feature of the brand is the emphasis on quality and the most exquisite design of jewelry. Skillful hands of craftsmen painstakingly work on every detail, gradually turning the products into a masterpiece of jewelry art. Almost all products are handmade, sometimes months of hard work are required for each of them. The company constantly pleases admirers with new amazing collections. Some of them, such as “Colors of Emotion” (Colors of feelings) or “Heritage” (Heritage) literally shook the world.
Owning such jewelry is a longed-for dream of fans, but jewelry from Gilan is a beauty that is obvious to everyone around, but, alas, not available to everyone. The price of these exclusive diamond items is too high, but this does not prevent some celebrities from flaunting jewelry from Gilan. Spectacular Christina Aguilera wore diamond spiral candelabra earrings from Gilan and another famous singer – charming Alicia Keys did not fail to appear in the jewelry of the famous Turkish brand.
