Renowned for her exquisite Etruscan and Neoclassical intaglios, gemstone pendants, link bracelets, and gold cocktail rings, Elizabeth Locke is also a passionate collector of decorative arts and antiques.
Elizabeth Locke never envisioned a career as a writer for national magazines, a globally recognized jeweler, an internationally traveled explorer, or a skilled historian. She did not picture herself owning a distinctive residence in a small South Carolina coastal community or welcoming a thousand guests on Halloween evening. Nor did she fantasize about possessing a Virginia farm and raising Angus cattle. The prospect of attaining remarkable business success never crossed her mind.

Yet, unexpectedly, all these unimagined aspirations materialized. Today, Elizabeth Locke stands as a globally acclaimed jewelry brand.
The Elizabeth Locke Jewels brand earns recognition through museum acquisitions, exclusive partnerships with Neiman Marcus, interest from premier national jewelry retailers, and a steady flow of national honors and media coverage. The collection focuses on unique, handcrafted items so refined that the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts published a volume dedicated to its holdings of antique micromosaics. Their boutiques in Boise, Virginia, and Manhattan are widely praised for their ambiance and aesthetic design.

Raised in Staunton, Virginia, as the daughter of Mary Baldwin, a college English professor, Locke’s father authored a textbook that saw fifteen editions, enabling the family to journey annually to ancient ruins across the globe. It was during these expeditions that Elizabeth first encountered eighteenth- and nineteenth-century micromosaics—miniature artworks formed by arranging minute glass tiles on a bonded surface.
